martial art fights. On June 28, 2006, Silva made his professional debut at Ultimate Fight Night 5. Silva made a strong first impression by knocking out Leben in the first round with a flurry of precision blows followed by a devastating knee strike at 49 seconds. Silva has a remarkable accuracy rate of 85 percent. He followed this up with an equally convincing victory against Rich Franklin, claiming the middleweight
title.

then six months before quitting amid controversy.
