From this year onwards, the IPL will include two new teams: Lucknow and Ahmedabad, as the lucrative T20 event expands to ten teams.
In the 2019 IPL, KL Rahul will head the Lucknow franchise.
Apart from the RSPG Group’s purchase of the Lucknow franchise for a staggering Rs 7,090 crore, CVC Capital Partners’ purchase of the Ahmedabad franchise for Rs 5,625 crore is the other new team.
Lucknow Super Giants Player Retention
Prior to the IPL 2022 mega auction, the Lucknow club, along with the other newcomer Ahmedabad, were permitted to keep three players from the pool of released players. KL Rahul (Rs 17 crore), Marcus Stoinis (Rs 9.2 crore), and rising legspinner Ravi Bishnoi (Rs 4 crore) were all acquired ahead of the auction by the Lucknow Super Giants.

Captain of Lucknow Super Giants

KL Rahul will captain the Lucknow team in the IPL 2022, which will begin on March 27. Rahul, who was released by the Punjab Kings, was recruited with the intention of making him captain, according to Sanjiv Goenka.
“The captain will be KL. Not only has KL’s batting and wicketkeeping ability amazed me, but so have his leadership qualities. The Coaching Staff Of Lucknow Super Giants
Andy Flower, a former Zimbabwe captain, will be the head coach of the Lucknow Super Giants. The flower is a seasoned coach who has worked with a variety of teams, both national and T20 competitions, all around the world. The flower has previously worked in competitions such as the Caribbean Premier League and the Abu Dhabi T10 and was the head coach of England when they won the Ashes.
The Lucknow Super Giants will be coached by former India opener Gautam Gambhir.
Vijay Dahiya, a former India wicketkeeper, will be the assistant coach of the Lucknow Super Giants. Dahiya was previously a member of the Delhi Capitals’ support staff.
Lucknow’s Remaining Purse

The Lucknow outfit currently has a balance of Rs 59.8 crore after acquiring three players. A team can have a maximum purse of Rs 90 crore, with money decreased based on player retention prior to the auction.
